Yeah you can get girls easy by just going to a bar - but they might not be the best girls in the world. Definitely decent ones are best met through friends. You can also meet some at the gym - it’s worked for me before.

If you are a person of faith, begin visiting places of worship that are in your worship tradition and near where you live. At those churches or temples or whatever, ask about small groups for people in your age group. If they have thewm, visit them and see if there is are people that interest you. If they have no groups for people in your age/stage or you have no interest int he people that were there, go to the next one and try again. If you find someone this way, you will already begin woth someone who shares your deepest values. Otherwise, if you are not religious, look for professional groups like young lawyers association, young professionals groups (most larger cities have groups like this that exist for social and “meeting people” purposes. You might also try political groups. Gropups like the young democrats and repubs are very social.
You might also try eharmony.com or Its just lunch type agencies that help facilitate meeting people. You can also call the city sports or rec office to see about coed public sports leagues like softball, tennis, etc. Another way would be to get involved heavily in a philanthropic group or interest-related groups (Wash DC ski club) cause that offers opportunities to meet others.
