Over 18, American Girl Needs Some Dating Advice With A British Gent.?
I like a British guy. We met on vacation here and stayed in touch. How do I move the friendship to the next level. I think he is interested but the calls and contact haven’t moved passed 1x every week or two. He works a lot and is older and set in his own ways. He is a shy and reserved British man and not sure what to expect. Calls last 1 or 2 hours (although calls are recent since we started out emailing). Any British dating insight would be helpful.

Sorry, but we English can be as different from each other as can you Americans.
I have no idea about ‘moving from levels to levels’. Americans seem to have this mind map, like ‘levels in buildings’ with stairways and ‘elevators’, or life’s journeys and relationship which you look at as a railway map (’back on track’) ~ as if there is some ‘time table’ to go by.
I cannot see any reason for just letting a relationship be and become whatever it is, without ‘time tables’ or ‘levels’, although I can obviously understand if someone wants to ‘move it forwards’ ~ wherein some one may be holding back. So what is wrong with being direct about this with him!
I can’t give you any dating insight as I’m liable to simply stumble into offering up just a bunch of cliches, like ‘pubs’, which are places I rarely visit.
We English are known to love beer and Indian food. Then I can’t really be English because I can’t stand the smell of Indian food and don’t like beer or lager either.
Sorry, but I could be classed as ‘a poor excuse for an Englishman’.
(sniff sniff) Sash.
