“Honesty is such a lonely word. Everyone is so untrue. Honesty is hardly ever heard. And mostly what I need from you.”
It’s not surprising this 1978 Billy Joel song became an instant hit because of the moving message it has brought to countless hurting people, who have been at some time in their lives, cheated and deceived. Loving someone in good times is natural; you in reality do not even have to think about it, it comes so simply and spontaneously. On the other hand, loving someone in hard times is one of the most difficult things to do, a major challenge to virtually all couples. Well, it is a choice that one makes and maybe along with life’s bittersweet forms, many have selected not to love through bad times, thus the failure and doom of most relationships.
Along with incompatibility, psychological incapacity, immaturity, money fears and other familiar issues, CHEATING has become the key cause of most shattered relationships. With this reality, does your relationship have to end because of a cheating partner? The response may not be necessarily yes. It can also be NO, only if you are willing to give it a chance. Relationships do not need to end because of dishonesty and adultery. There are several ways to fix a cheating relationship. Although it needs a lot of sacrifice, hard work, patience, reason and shared respect, recovery from a distasteful relationship blurred by cheating can be well on its way.
You may ask, “Why does my partner cheat?” Is it something that you lack that he might need? Is it because of his strong and uncontrolled hormones that need fast satisfaction? Is there an emotional baggage that is bringing down the relationship? Are there people standing in the way? The question can go on and on and yet the relationship will remain tainted with deceit and reluctance to become truthful.
Discharging Old Misdemeanors - You cannot go on in a relationship if you continue to carry a heavy load. Past emotional baggage can pull down a relationship. Unload these anchor-like chains and get away from old mistakes and misdemeanors. Learn, unlearn and relearn.
Determine To Be Open - The willingness to be truthful and transparent is a good start. Learn to move away completely from a pretentious lifestyle. Your partner will be able to receive the real you when you get rid of deceitful ways.
Try Hard To Change for the Better - How to mend a cheating relationship will all depend on how hard, one or both will work to change for the better.
