We dated for a couple of years, and we hid it from her parents. We never did anything “bad,” her parents just didn’t think she was ready to date. This was in 10th grade! I have been a single parent for about 6 months now. After graduated from college I move back to my parents place because I needed help on raising my baby. I was wondering what ya’ll thought of this situation. I’m 18 yrs old, living with my parents and they pay for my college tuition. So, I’m in the whole ‘i live under their roof, i follow their rules’ thing. The problem is that they started to tell me a few months ago that they don’t want me to be in a committed relationship with anyone. They said that I should just date around, be single, and have friends, but not to be commited to one person, and that my focus should be on school. So, question: does that make any type of sense to you at all? I personally don’t see the point of dating if I can’t be in a relationship. And I tried talking to my parents about this and it does no good. Oh, and I’m not gonna move out cuz I’m 18 and dont like their rules - can’t afford that at all and don’t think its worth it.

I’m 20 and probably too old to be getting dating advice from my disfunctional, divorced albeit loving parents. I have been dating a neglectful oblivious guy for 8 months and I know it’s awful but I kissed another guy when I was drunk, and immediately after, sent my boyfriend an email saying it was over. My friends stand by me, but my parents are mad at me for this, and they are being really obnoxious about it, saying I should have checked with them first! WTF?
