How to get a girlfriend

Hi and thanks for reading (and answering my question). On Sat, (4/22/09) some acquaintances of mine showed up to my office’s annual marketing event/barbeque with their bfs. They also brought a third guy whom they introduced me to then quickly went away so he and I could “get to know eachother”. I had no idea they were going to do this so of course I was unprepared. The acquaintences asked me out to dinner with their group that night (which included the guy they brought top the event). We were all going to follow one another from the event to the bar/club and since i was following him, he gave me his number in case I got lost. The cars separated and I called him. (This means my number should be in his phone, right?) He and i sat next to eachother and hung out but didn’t get to talk too much because one of the girl acquantances was pretty drunk and kept talking to me about work all night. He was really sweet during dinner, and because he found out I’m a vegetarian, he picked out the chicken from his meal then shared some with me. At the end of the night he walked me to my car and gave me a hug. I reminded him about the concert I’d brought up at dinner (which is this weekend, exactly 1 week from the night we met) and told him to call me if he felt like going to it. No call or any contact yet. What should I do??? I am interested in getting to know him better. I liked him based on the short hours I spent with him. Guys, your input would be really appreciated here. He should have my number and i did say to call me if he wanted to go to the concert but the time is so short now to get tickets…does this mean he’s just not interested? Or, because he gave me his number do you think he wants me to call him? I haven’t dated for a while so I’m not completely up to date on the “rules”… Please advise.

I don’t like a guy that drinks and this dude drinks but once in a while. I really like the guy, but I don’t know if this one thing will always bug me. Have you ever dealt with anything similar and do you have any advice?

Ok, I’m a 19 year old lesbian and I’ve been dating this 21 year old chick who’s bi and she’s having trouble getting over her ex-boyfriend. I really like her and she said that I make her feel happy like she used to. Her ex is this total asshole that used to hit her. She dated him for about two years.I think she’s not talking to him anymore but they live in the same city so idk… How do I help her get over him? or How do I get her to realize that I’m the person she should be with?

So there is this girl I like a lot. She told her friend she is starting to like me as well, and we spend a lot of time together.
The problem is she likes to joke around a lot and it is very hard to discuss serious matters with her. She has never had a serious relationship, and neither have I. I just want to know good strategies for flirting and talking about dating if she is interested, but doesn’t take it very seriously.

It’s been over a month and a half since me and my friend have started going out and we both want to tell our parents but don’t know how. My parents know I’m bi-sexual and know I’ve dated girls before but since she was my best friend for so long I’m unsure how I should tell my parents that me and her are dating. Any advice?

Here’s the thing some people just naturally know how to date. Others may be old as hell and still spend the rest of their life time learning, which is my case. See I’m 29 and I don’t have a clue on how to do things… total disaster I am lol
This dude.. I am relocating to where he lives in a few months, hardly know him, be I do feel this empathy, so I asked him if he wanted to be mates once I get there, you know? hang out, go to the pub from time to time, possibly do some bike rides, concerts and things.
What I’m thinking is: what if I get there and actually feel attracted to him, coz even do I don’t know him very well, something tells me that there is a great chance I might feel attracted to him once I see him again. So if that happens, being that I have already kinda institutionalized this future mate thing, do you think I could still fix/change things to get them on the dating path??? lolol
That is if I do feel attracted to him once we meet again in a few months. Something tells me I will tho.. something tells me I already do actually :/ I mean who am I kidding, mates, yeah right?!
p.s. I would consider myself an attractive young woman, but then again that’s not the point, coz I don’t wanna shag him I wanna get to know him.

My older sister found out I’m dating and says that it’s ”really not okay”.(she said this several times)
I’m 14 and she says that ”even when I’m 16 it won’t be okay so why would it be ok at 14?” I think she may be a bit exagerating. 16?!?!
I’m not sure what to do. I’m mature and smart, I know how to say no to things. She found out that I’m also kissing and asked me ”where do you think this is going to lead?”. She asked me if my mom knows and I’m pretty sure she’s going to talk to her about it. I’m afraid that my mom won’t let me go out alone with the guy I’m dating anymore.
I don’t know what to do!
Any advice????
